I have a very small pontoon boat (6x12 deck). It has an older, dry rotted top that I've been wanting to replace. I came across this one in the Vine program and needing to be reviewed, so I decided to give it a try.This top, although it states universal, it isn't exactly universal. If it had velcro or zippers like my old one, then it would have been MUCH easier to install. Since the support brackets have to be slid into the sleeves, I had to disconnect all the connectors on one side of my support. I then had to slip it onto each of the brackets and work it up slowly and evenly until it was fully on. it took about an hour. I knew this top was going to be big, but I was ok with that. It's on my private lake, so I don't have to impress anyone. I'm looking for functionality, not beauty.Anyway, it did slip on ok without too much difficulty. The material is nice but isn't very thick. I wouldn't exactly call it canvas. I like the side shades, although I haven't tried them yet.Note that it does not have an opening on the top back for the stern light. I had to remove my light and the wiring in order to install this cover. I'll probably just leave the light off, since it is on my private lake. If you were to use this on a public lake and have a stern light that is affixed to your top, then this top would need modification.Note that my support only has three poles, so it is kind of sloppy. This top is made for 4. I may rig up another support, since that would give me more headroom anyway. I do like the size of this top, though. It is much longer than my original.
