A quiet, compact, and efficient dehumidifier

I like this 22-pint dehumidifier for homes up to 3000 square feet with a 1.45-gallon water tank, reusable air filter, quiet 50dB operation, and auto shut-off.I found the controls clear and easy to read. The interface is intuitive, with obvious up/down buttons and fan icons to indicate speed settings. Setting the humidity level is simple because the display continuously shows the current room humidity. Like a thermostat, I can just select a lower target percentage and the unit automatically maintains it. I greatly prefer this over an arbitrary low/medium/high dial because setting an exact humidity percentage is more precise, easier to duplicate year-round, and potentially more energy efficient. The controls are conveniently located on the flat top of the unit, so I do not need to bend down or kneel to read a low front-facing display. My application is a basement utility room. Starting at 44% humidity, the unit reduced the room to 40% in about 3.5 hours. It also did not noticeably heat up the roughly 100-square-foot room while operating, which I take as a good sign of efficiency. In my setup, the room has a door to isolate noise from the well pumps and hot water heater, but airflow continues through a large vent above the door, so the dehumidifier is effectively exchanging air with about a 500-square-foot area. The unit also includes several advanced features, including a continuous-run mode that would be useful for drying a damp basement or helping dry carpets after a spill. There is a fine mesh filter built into the case that can easily be removed and washed. I appreciate that it uses a reusable permanent filter rather than disposable filters that require regular replacement. The unit also includes a gravity drain connection on the back for attaching a hose to continuously drain water into a lower floor drain or sump. My model does not include the optional powered pump, though the manual indicates pump-equipped versions are available. The unit is ENERGY STAR certified for energy efficiency, helping reduce operating costs. The label on the unit lists an IEF rating of 1.7 liters per kWh, which appears quite efficient for this size category.Overall, I found this to be a quiet, compact, and efficient dehumidifier that looks good, is easy to operate, and performs well.

Nice little dehumidifier

This is a fairly light, small dehumidifier. It seems very well made, is fairly quiet, and works quite well. It has a somewhat small reservoir, so it works better in a small area, emptying every day, or have a hose hooked to the drain.I ran it in our farmhouse for a week, and the reservoir was completely full. I drained it and then I checked it about 3 hours later, and it was about 1/4 full already, so it works really well. I mainly got this to keep the humidity down to prevent mold growth, since the house is closed up a lot. I've since turned up the humidity setting, so it doesn't run as much. I'll end up moving it closer to my shower, then use a small hose to run it to the shower drain. It has a nice handle on the tank, which makes carrying and emptying easy. it does not shut off when you remove the tank to empty, so make sure you put it back.

Easy to Adjust and Maintain, Handles the Whole Floor, Does Its Job Silently

We are replacing an old humidifier that has been limping along keeping our lower level dry. I have another smart dehumidifier on our upper level and it is about half the size, and I like its smart features, and it handles the same amount of water as this unit, but because it is smaller, it requires frequent emptying when its humid. This unit is larger overall, about twice the size of my upstairs unit, and its tank is larger, so I empty it less.It was simple to set up. They instruct you to let it sit for 24 hours upright after arrival to settle it, then remove all packing, remove the plug out of the tank and plug it in.It's very intuitive to set with its digital icons on top. When you power it on, it reads the room humidity so I just set it for 45% and left it to do its job. It has been humming along ever since, cycling on and off throughout the day as the humidity rises or decreases. The unit stops when the tank is full as did my old unit, so there is no concern about overflowing. It does have a gravity drain option, but as the space it is in is now a finished space, we won't be using it for now. It is super quiet and I don't even notice it's running when I am in the room. The only criticism I have is that I found the tank a bit sticky to get in and out, but I'll get the angle right over time. All in all, it's doing a great job in a 1500 square foot space and is a real upgrade from our old ancient unit.

Very portable, lightweight, and extremely quiet!

This GARVEE 22 pint dehumidifier really has me impressed! I ordered this to see if this little unit will help control the humidity in our primary bathroom and adjacent primary closet. During the winter, with the whole house humidifier running, we get a lot of humidity buildup in our primary closet and that leads to a lot of excess moisture on the window. It gets worse in the morning after we are all done showering as well. During the summers, again the primary bath and closet just doesn't seem to lose the humidity. The vent fan does draw a lot of it out, but I also think that since you can't put an HVAC return back there, the air just doesn't get circulated as well. So I think our best solution was to order this little dehumidifier that should easily be able to handle the square footage of both the bathroom and closet. My first impressions of this dehumidifier was how extremely quiet it is. You can barely hear or feel the compressor running and the squirrel cage fan is whisper silent. The dehumidifier itself is not too heavy and can be picked up and moved fairly easy. It also has 4 castor wheels on the bottom so it easy to roll around on hard surface flooring. Since we do not have anywhere to drain the dehumidifier automatically, we will just have to empty the catch bucket when it is full. This morning, I turned on the dehumidifier and the control panel said it was at 47%. After only running for about an hour or so, it was already down to 35%. So this little dehumidifier is quite a workhorse for its size and should help reduce humidity odors! It's not very big either, so it doesn't require a large footprint in the room!Overall, I'm very impressed! Based on its quality, easy controls, being extremely quiet, and price point I consider this dehumidifier an excellent value and a fast way to get rid of excess humidity!
