Reviews
It's cute, a bit bigger than I was expecting, but that's a good thing when it comes to having enough space for your plants, right? I like that it is galvanized. I live in zone 4 mountains and galvanized planters work really well here. They don't rust or disintegrate. While they probably don't hold the warmth of the winter sun like my wood frame beds do, they also don't fall apart after a few seasons and need boards replaced. So it's pros and cons, however you look at it. I have a mix of both wood and galvanized beds, and I have learned over the years that some plants do better in each. I really like that it is raised off the ground or at least my back likes it. All of my raised garden beds are already designated with this year's crops, so I think I will just load this planter with flowers. One, because you can never have enough flowers, and two, maybe it will help keep the bees and wasps off of me this summer. Just a note, in the photo directions (no words) it shows a finishing piece/cap on top of the leg pieces at the top of the planter, there is no such thing. I docked a star for two reasons. One is that the body and the legs don't match. The legs are definitely a creamy color, but the body is almost a gray color (no, it's not inside out). It's not a big deal, it doesn't affect the use of the planter, but I think it's kind of ugly. In time I may have to paint it or maybe the hot summer sun will even out the difference in color. The other reason is the horrendous directions. I have never been so aggravated assembling a flat pack design as I was with this planter. What should have been a 30 minute task, was more like 2 hours. I assembled and disassembled more times than I care to acknowledge. Take the time to mentally assemble it as you lay out the pieces and save yourself the hassle of having to keep going back. The plastic insert/floor in the bottom is difficult to get in if any of the bolts have been tightened, so don't tighten anything until every last piece is in place. While empty, it is easy to move around. I just simply grabbed the middle bar (after it was tightened) and carried all over my garden to see where I might want it, I did not need another person to help move it. Overall, I like it. It is a welcome addition to my space. I would for sure buy another one if I needed it.
I managed with my sons help to put it together. It was not easy but it would be helpful to have written instructions instead of a faded diagram. After a few tries and taking it apart we finally get it together. I do have to say it is solid and looks great. I had one broken piece and will notify them. It is a great buy.
I was surprised how quickly this assembled — instructions were clear and everything fit well. The metal frame feels durable and holds soil perfectly. I love the built-in watering system. My tomatoes and peppers are already thriving!
This garden bed is exactly what I needed! The watering system is super convenient and keeps my plants hydrated without constant supervising. The size is perfect — deep and spacious for vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Really sturdy and well-made.
