Great shelf, HOWEVER, it had a film on it to prevent it from getting scratched during shipping & assembly. The film is nearly impossible to get off and left large areas of the shelf sticky.
We purchased the 48" multifunctional model. It seemed a little flimsy at first but after mounting it seems like it will hold up okay. Was concerned when the package arrived as it the carton had a hole in it. The unit was not packed well enough to allow for in a hurry dock workers and delivery drivers. After unpakaging we found no major damage. There were a few minor scratches in the finish but nothing we will notice from a few feet away. Manufacture needs to use a thicker protective film on the metal. It will protect better against shipping damage, and wont be as big of a pain to remove. We spent as much time removing film from parts as we did actually mounting the shelf. I would recommend getting some SS washers to use on the wall mounting screws as the heads are not much bigger than the mounting holes on the shelf. Bypayss using the screw in drywall anchors and screw directly into a stud even if it means making new holes in the backsplash of the unit. I wouldnt trust the drywall anchors to hold excess weight that someone might try putting on the shelf at some point.
The shelf is great, I bought the 24" for my pantry, I wanted to keep some extra pans and covers on it because my kitchen has limited storage. Easy to assemble and install. I agree with reviews that the hardest part was taking off the protective covering, make sure you're in a patient mode because it is tedious!
This was easy to install and is very sturdy. My husband drilled two extra holes in it so we could hang it on two studs. It has a couple pots hanging on it as well as some things on the shelf. It's nice to be able to move a few things off my counter space, too. We bought a USB light that has sticky magnets, and we mounted a light under it, so we have extra light directly over the stovetop from it, if that's something someone else might need. Very happy with this!
