Let me explain something about the cleaning:Add a tiny bit of the citric acid (about 1tsp is all you need) to about 1cm worth of water, and swirl it around to mix it. I've also used CLR cleaner. Just a small splash is all it takes. Use a sponge to clean the sides and bottom. No scrubbing is needed. No green pads, and no backs of the sponge. Only the soft side of the sponge is needed. The acid cleaner does all the work. It takes less than a minute to clean this way.If you use this distiller properly, and clean it properly, it works perfectly and will last you a long time.

My order says taking longer than anticipated, but I'll be honest and say I have this item and I'm making my 3rd batch of distilled water for my CPAP machine. I hope this distiller last long enough to recover the cost, but right now I'm loving the process. 4L of water lasts 2-3 weeks for me. I'm distilling filtered water, and starting with hot to reduce the distillation time. It is simple. Keep everything clean. Set up according to directions. Press the button and go. SO GLAD TO BE OUT OF THE BUYING GALLON PLASTIC JUGS! If the apparatus breaks before I've saved $100 in distilled H2O plastic jugs, I'll let you know. But so far so good!
