Note: This is my third outdoor straw rug I’ve received like this- I just needed one for a different property I own and I like this white and grey color/ pattern. Other than that the rugs are exactly alike. My other one has been outside for months in rain and 5 inches of snow and still looks amazing- just as good as the day I put it outside, in fact. It doesn’t absorb moisture or start to mold and it doesn’t really get stained. I love my original.I have probably been through 3 or 4 fabric “outdoor” rugs in the last 10 years on my back deck. They say they are outdoor rugs but yet they get saturated with water and start to grow mold and disintegrate very quickly. And then the next season I have to buy a whole new rug. I also hate how the fabric rugs just retain water when it rains. I’ve noticed that 1-3 days after a heavy rain, everything else will be dry (the deck, the furniture, the outdoor plants- everything)- but the rug will still be soaking wet. It is gross to walk across the rug in your bare feet and feel that your feet and the bottom of your pants are now soaking wet. In all fairness, the rugs I’ve used have been on the back deck at my condo which gets pelted with rain at high intensities any time we have a storm. The way my property is situated, the rainwater just comes down in sheets in the back of the building.When I saw that this rug was made of a plastic strawlike material I figured this would be the solution to all my problems. I also liked the geometric pattern that matches all my basic neutral furniture. I received the rug and liked it immediately. It actually comes folded up into a square in a tote back with handles on it. It is very lightweight. I was thinking to myself as I opened it that this would be a great rug/ mat to pack with you on a beach/ camping/ picnic day.It has a great neutral design and is reversible- so you can choose whether you want it to be mostly white or mostly grey. I am going to try out both sides and see which one I like best long-term.Since the rug was folded it had some creases but nothing leaving it flat out in the rain a couple days won’t fix. The best part of this rug is that I can tell it doesn’t retain water. It is made of a slick, plastic-like fabric that water slides off of and it isn’t thick or heavy enough to hold water for long anyways- which means I will not likely have the moldy rug issues I’ve dealt with for 10 years now. I know this is the solution to all my outdoor rug problems!The rug looks great with my furniture and I know it will be water-resistant and stylish- I will update if anything changes.One thing to note- the rug is pretty lightweight so I think it could potentially blow away if there was a gust of wind. I’d suggest using it in areas where you’ll have furniture or a table to place on top of it, at least partially. It is also a great choice for a sunroom, basement, playroom, etc. Could even work in a casual kitchen. Great low maintenance, yet stylish rug. 5 stars!

There is a lot to like about this product. We'll start with the size. It is perfect to add a touch of color to your patio and furniture (and large enough for coverage). Comfortable enough to walk on, and reversible to boot! We preferred the lighter side of this, so I have included a picture of what that looks like for the border black/white version. I have to also give major props for the packaging of this. Comes in a nice zipper pouch with 4 stakes for the ground (if needed), then vacuum sealed to make it nice and compact. Because we had furniture to weigh this down (and it went over concrete), the stakes were not needed. Upon opening, you WILL notice creases in the rug. They come with an instruction insert that tells you to fold the other way, hold for 5 seconds, and it will straighten out. This worked to a certain degree. But it's also a big rug. So you'd have to do this for a lot of creases. I did it lengthwise, and am just going to let time and weather changes even it out over time. Let's talk about value and cost. For such a big size, I think this is worth the cost, and here's why. Replacement cloth umbrellas cost as much (if not more), and typically don't last us more than a few season before the sun fades and deteriorates them. Time will tell how long this holds up, but the immediate aesthetic change (and knowing it's somewhat weather-resistant) was worth it! It's not overly thick, so you will want to make sure (if on concrete) that something helps to weigh it down.

It weighs near zero, unfolded in seconds, once I laid it out, I staked a corner, pulled to another, staked that one and so forth until all 4 corners were staked. Folds were all tolerable and only slightly visible. We received heavy rain after, all debris from the rain easily blew off and any unevenness from folds was gone with zero defects.

We truly appreciated the beautiful carpet and the excellent price.
