I ordered the brown 40x40 to go over a window. Assembly was relatively easy and all parts arrived in perfect condition. There is a protective film over the translucent plastic. Total awning with brackets weights maybe 20 lbs. It's very light. It was mounted to a cinderblock wall that is on an enclosed lanai. Used the fasteners that came with the awning, they were sufficient but nothing great. Should hold it tho. For my needs as a tiki bar roof it works well. I needed something that would clear my wall fan and mounting it all the way to the ceiling worked perfectly. I myself would not trust this in the snow. It just seems too flimsy.
The clear board looks simple and modern, not bulky at all. It gives enough shade for the entrance while still keeping the area bright.
Installation was pretty straightforward with two people. It feels lightweight but sturdy once mounted, and the 40" x 40" size works great above our back door.
I used it over a window that gets a lot of rain and sun. The size is just right, and the brackets feel secure after installation.
